The Hidden Survival Story Behind Your Ailments

Pain has a story. But we’re often too busy managing the symptoms to hear it speak.

You go to the doctor. You get tests. Maybe you're told everything is “normal.” Maybe you're given a diagnosis of IBS, migraines, fatigue, chronic inflammation — and a prescription to match.

But what if your symptoms aren't random? What if they're your body’s survival language?

In my RTT practice, I often meet people who feel betrayed by their bodies. But when we go deeper, the story that emerges is not one of betrayal, it’s one of protection.

Emma’s Body Was Speaking, She Just Didn’t Know How to Listen

Emma * came to me struggling with fibromyalgia-like symptoms. Her body ached. She was always exhausted. She had tried everything: painkillers, supplements, and even yoga. But nothing touched the deep, relentless heaviness in her body.

“I feel like I’m carrying the weight of something I can’t see,” she said.

And she was right.

During her RTT session, her subconscious took her back to scenes she hadn’t consciously recalled in decades. One memory stood out: She was 9 years old, standing at the top of the stairs while her parents argued below. She felt helpless. Afraid. Frozen.

In that moment, her mind made a powerful decision: “If I stay small, quiet, and invisible, I’ll be safe.” Her nervous system entered a chronic state of hypervigilance, stuck in fight-or-flight, even when there was no immediate threat.

Her body learned to carry that fear. The tension. The stillness. The shutdown. And years later, it was still expressing that survival pattern, through pain.

Your Body Isn’t the Enemy, It’s the Messenger

This is what RTT does differently: It doesn’t just ask, “What’s wrong with you?”

It gently asks, “What happened to you, and how did your body learn to cope?”

Emma’s session uncovered beliefs like:

  • “It’s not safe to relax.”

  • “I have to carry everything alone.”

  • “If I speak up or stand out, I’ll be hurt.”

Once these beliefs surfaced, we used the power of hypnosis and language to create a new inner reality. One where her body could finally let go.

Her personalized recording became a daily healing ritual:

“It is safe to relax now.”

“I trust my body to heal.”

“I deserve to feel light, free, and at ease.”

Weeks Later, Emma Said Something Beautiful:

"My body doesn’t feel like a battlefield anymore. It feels like a friend.”

She still had occasional aches — but the fear, the heaviness, the stuckness? It was lifting. Because the real wound had been seen. And healing had finally begun, from the inside out.
